The School was established in 1994 under the umbrella of Emerson College. In 2010 Ashley Ramsden, Sue Hollingsworth and Roi Gal-Or founded the International School of Storytelling and it became an independent Charity.
Together, the three of them have clocked up nearly 60 years of performing, teaching and consulting with storytelling. It is their solid base of practical experience tempered with a unique spiritual and cultural perspective of what it means to be a storyteller today that has enabled the School, after 21 years, to become one of the foremost centres for storytellers in the world. The Founders work internationally, are continuously developing new material and encourage some of the brightest and best storytelling practitioners around to offer courses at the School.
