Welcome to the School of Storytelling, Emerson College, the longest running centre of its kind.

Founded in 1994, we continue to run courses and welcome people from all cultures, backgrounds, genders, ages and experience.

What is Storytelling?

We are all born storytellers. Storytelling is how we make sense of the world, who we are, where we are going and how we communicate this to others, personally or professionally.

Storytelling underpins everything we do: entertainment, education, healing, activism.

Our belief systems are stories, every algorithm tells a story. The myths, legends, folk and fairy tales that every culture has left behind are all "the distilled essence of human experience."

The connection, empathy, strength, and richness I felt from being a part of an incredible community is more than I could hope to receive in a lifetime…and yet I received it in 4 weekends! This course has been life-giving.'
