"The parallels between stories and seeds are many - the best ones are kept and passed down from one generation to another. They connect us to our ancestors and origins and are essential for our future. They provide us with nourishment. They share a hidden life force in them and the power of transformation. We could not live without them." (Roi Gal-Or)
By following the story of a seed from seed-case to fully-grown plant, we will learn how to nourish and care for the plants and the soil, the effect of the stars and planets on plant growth and how to see the whole garden as one living organism, all according to the prinicples of biodynamic farming/gardening.
Interwoven with this work we will nourish ourselves and the plants by creating, listening to, and telling tales - both traditional and personal, of the growth, magic, and transformation that happens in gardens, and celebrate the vitality and abundance of nature in summer.
As well as leaving with knowledge and a repertoire of nature stories, it aims to be an enriching experience for both you and the garden. As much as possible the coure will take place in and around Emerson's BD vegetable garden. No experience of biodynamics or storytelling is needed to enjoy this course, simply an openness to what nature has to teach us.
